: INDEPENDENCE DAY CELEBRATIONS RAJEEV VIHAR ARMY WELFARE HOUSING SOCIETY
Rajeev Vihar Army Welfare Housing Society, Sector 13, Chandigarh, celebrated the 79th Independence Day with great patriotic fervour. There was pride and unity within its premises.
The occasion witnessed spirited participation from Armed Forces veterans, their families, and civilian residents. They all came together to honour India’s hard‑earned Independence. They also reaffirmed their commitment to the nation’s democracy, development, and progress.

The celebrations commenced with the hoisting of the National Flag by Colonel DS Sra (Veteran). He is the President of the Society. He extended his warm greetings to the residents & their families. The highlight of the event was the felicitation of members who played a pivotal role in facilitating the installation of Lifts in the Society. This project symbolizes progress, convenience, and community development. The honoured members were Brig SC Rangi, Brig DS Katoch, Col GS Goraya, Col Dharam Paul, Col PS Bhatia, and Major KK Jaswal. Col Sra presented each of them with a Tri‑colour Scarf and an Independence Day Souvenir as a token of appreciation for their valuable contribution.

On this solemn occasion, residents paid heartfelt tribute to India’s freedom fighters. They remembered their sacrifices and selfless service in securing the country’s Independence. They also took a pledge to contribute, in every possible way, towards safeguarding the sovereignty and integrity of the nation.
The programme concluded on a note of camaraderie. Sweets were distributed among residents and staff. This act reinforced the spirit of unity, pride and togetherness that defines the Rajeev Vihar community.
