"Tell the Storms to Stay Within Limits": Punjab CM Bhagwant Mann Slams BJP After ED Raids AAP MP Ashok Mittal
Directorate of Enforcement (ED), Jalandhar Zonal Office, has provisionally attached
immovable properties on 13/12/2025. These properties are in the form of land, building, and plant & machinery. They are worth Rs 79.93 Crore. They belong to M/s Malbros International Pvt Ltd. This is in a money laundering investigation related to environmental crime. The action is under the provisions of Prevention of Money Laundering Act (PMLA), 2002.
ED started the investigation based on a criminal complaint filed by the Punjab Pollution
Control Board. The complaint is against M/s Malbros International Pvt Ltd for violating the provisions of the Water (Prevention and Control of Pollution) Act, 1974. They injected untreated wastewater into deep aquifers through reverse boring.

ED investigation revealed that M/s Malbros International Pvt Ltd (with its industrial unit
at village Mansoorwal, Tehsil Zira, Dist. Ferozepur) was involved in generation and acquisition of
Proceeds of Crime by deliberately causing pollution of ground water by persistently and covertly
injecting untreated effluents into deep aquifers through reverse boring, and repeatedly discharging
wastewater onto land, drains, and an adjacent sugar mill. Its daily functioning involved continuously discharging untreated effluents illegally into land and groundwater. This caused large-scale irreparable ecological damage through water pollution. Consequently, there were health hazards such as crop loss, cattle deaths, and serious health impacts for village residents around its premises.
Earlier, authorities conducted searches at six locations on 16.07.2024 and seized Rs. 78.15 lakh cash from the premises of M/s Malbros International Pvt Ltd and its directors under Section 17 of the PMLA, 2002.
Further investigation is under progress.
