Chandigarh December 13, 2024 – The Punjab Vigilance Bureau (VB) has registered a corruption case against Revenue Patwari Vikas Soni. He was posted at Jagraon in Ludhiana district. He took a Rs 1500 bribe and demanded more money for providing an Intkaal copy to the complainant.
An official spokesperson of the state VB disclosed this today. This case has been registered against the accused. It is based on a complaint lodged by Sukhwinder Singh. He is a resident of Village Leelan in Ludhiana district. The complaint was submitted at the chief minister anti corruption action line.
He further added that the complaint revealed that his wife sold land to other individuals; however, the inkaal was not transferred in the name of the buyers. Moreover, efforts were being made to investigate the situation thoroughly. Additionally, the authorities are examining any potential legal discrepancies related to the transaction.As per the complaint, the said Patwari had demanded Rs 8000 bribe to issue a copy of intkaal. The deal was settled on Rs 5000. Thereafter the accused Patwari had taken Rs 1500 and was demanding the remaining bribe money of Rs 3500.
During verification of this complaint, investigators found the allegations to be correct. Subsequently, a case was registered under the Prevention of Corruption Act against the accused Patwari at VB Police Station, Ludhiana Range. Efforts are being made to arrest the accused.
