Chandigarh, December 10: In a significant move to preserve the authenticity of Gurbani, Punjab Vidhan Sabha Speaker S. Kultar Singh Sandhwan has called for the immediate removal of error-ridden editions of the Gurshabd Ratnakar Mahan Kosh published by Punjabi University.
Series Discussions with representatives from various Sikh institutions
After holding a series of insightful discussions with representatives from various Sikh institutions at the Punjab Vidhan Sabha Secretariat, S. Sandhwan emphasised that he would take the necessary steps in strict accordance with the recommendations of the committee formed for this purpose. He also assured that he would carefully monitor the process to ensure its alignment with the committee’s guidelines, guaranteeing both accuracy and integrity.

He asked the Higher Education Department to submit a comprehensive report within the next three weeks. Furthermore, Sandhwan strongly emphasized the critical importance of this initiative, stressing that it is essential not only to preserve the sanctity of Gurbani but also to correct any misconceptions that could potentially impact future generations. In addition, he highlighted the long-term significance of this effort, pointing out that it would ensure the accuracy and authenticity of Gurbani for years to come.

The meeting was attended by several prominent individuals, including retired Professor Dr. Piarey Lal Garg, Kendri Sikh Sabha General Secretary Dr. Khushal Singh, and representatives from the Gyan Prakash Trust, Ludhiana. Among them were S. Slochan Bir Singh, S. Amarjit Singh Dhawan, S. Rajinder Singh Khalsa, and S. Balbir Singh. Additionally, Director of Sikh Missionary College S. Paramjit Singh, Director of Higher Education Mr. Sanyam Agarwal, and Mrs. Parminderjit Kaur, Head of the Punjabi Language Development Department at Punjabi University Patiala, were also present.
