VP Dhankhar Celebrates Haryana’s Heritage at Gita Jayanti”

Chandigarh, December 8 – In a celebration of Haryana’s rich heritage and developmental strides, Vice President of India, Sh. Jagdeep Dhankhar, graced the International Gita Jayanti Mahotsav (IGM) 2024 in Kurukshetra on Sunday. Lauding the state for its remarkable history and visionary progress, he remarked that Haryana exemplifies a perfect blend of cultural pride and developmental achievement.

Vice President visited the sacred Shri Devikoop Bhadrakali Shaktipeeth temple

Accompanied by his wife, Dr. Sudesh Dhankhar, the Vice President began his visit by offering heartfelt prayers at the sacred Shri Devikoop Bhadrakali Shaktipeeth temple. After this spiritual moment, the couple proceeded to the iconic Brahma Sarovar in Purushottampura Bagh. There, they were warmly joined by Haryana Governor Sh. Bandaru Dattatraya and Chief Minister Sh. Nayab Singh Saini to take part in the grand IGM festivities. Upon their arrival, the air was filled with the sounds of traditional Haryanvi music, creating a vibrant atmosphere that perfectly complemented the warm and heartfelt welcome extended to the dignitaries.

Gita Jayanti : Dhankhar planted a Kadamba sapling

In a poignant tribute, the Vice President planted a Kadamba sapling in honor of his late mother, Kesari Devi. Similarly, Dr. Sudesh Dhankhar planted a Rudraksha sapling in memory of her late mother, Bhagwati Devi.

The day’s highlights also included a visit to the Progressive Haryana Exhibition at Brahma Sarovar, where the Vice President and dignitaries explored the state’s development. At the Haryana Rural Livelihood Mission stall, self-help group members presented handcrafted mementos, reflecting the state’s commitment to community empowerment.

Mahotsav 2024: A Testament to Haryana’s Legacy”

The Vice President also toured a state-level exhibition, organized by the Information, Public Relations, Languages, and Culture Department, highlighting Haryana’s achievements over the past decade. Impressed by the presentation, he praised Chief Minister Sh. Nayab Singh Saini for his leadership and contributions to the state’s growth.

The International Gita Jayanti Mahotsav 2024 showcases Haryana’s rich legacy and its commitment to a bright, prosperous future.
