Assam and Nagaland Foundation Day was celebrated at Punjab Raj Bhawan today and presentations were given showcasing the cultures and arts of both the states.
Chandigarh, December 2: Punjab Raj Bhavan Marks Assam & Nagaland Foundation Day .As part of the Government of India’s “Ek Bharat, Shreshtha Bharat” program aimed at uniting the entire country, Punjab Raj Bhavan celebrated Assam and Nagaland Foundation Day today. Presentations showcased the cultures and arts of both states.
On this occasion, the Governors of Nagaland, Shri La Ganesan, and Assam, Shri Laxman Prasad Acharya, shared video messages with the audience.
Chandigarh Sangeet Natak Academy Celebrates Assam & Nagaland’s Culture”
On this occasion, Chandigarh Sangeet Natak Academy presented Bodo and Dahal Thungri dance of Assam, Nagaland Bamboo dance and a dance by combining the dances of both the states. “North Zonal Cultural Center also presented the Bar Doi Shikla dance and Bagurumba dance of Assam.”
On this occasion, Governor of Punjab and Administrator of Union Territory Chandigarh Shri Gulab Chand Kataria said that Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi has further strengthened the spirit of unity in diversity among the countrymen and has also made the people of other states aware of diverse cultures. “The government launched the ‘Ek Bharat Shreshtha Bharat’ programme to connect it with the culture and art of other states.” He said that the spirit of mutuality of people enables unity in diversity, which manifests as nationalism, and it is important to maintain it in future as well.
Punjab Raj Bhavan : Governor Highlights Unity Through Folk Arts
The Governor said that our various folk arts, folk dances and cultures are our common heritage, which does not discriminate on the basis of caste or rich-poor, but connects each other.
He said that for the past year, Punjab Raj Bhavan has celebrated State Foundation Days, symbolizing the social, economic, and cultural development and unity of our country.He said that there have been great people in different states, no matter in which state they were born, but they are not people of any one state but of the entire country.
