AMAN ARORA CALLS FOR UNITED FRONT TO COMBAT DRUG MENACE IN PUNJAB
Chandigarh, November 29 The Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) has fully prepared for the upcoming municipal elections in Punjab.The party’s Punjab President, Aman Arora, recently convened meetings with AAP leaders, MLAs, and ministers to strategize and discuss the elections in detail. Five municipal corporations and 42 municipal councils across the state will hold elections. Aman Arora confidently stated, “AAP will secure a landslide win in the municipal polls.”
By-Election Victory Boosts Party Workers’ Morale
Addressing the media after the meeting, Aman Arora claimed that, like the by-elections, the Aam Aadmi Party will also win the municipal elections by a significant margin. He stated that in the by-elections, the Aam Aadmi Party received the highest votes even in urban areas. “We are confident that we will achieve a significant lead in these elections as well,” he said. He added that the victory in the by-elections has boosted the morale of party workers, and this will positively impact the municipal elections too.
Landslide Win : State Govt Committed to All-Round Development
Arora stated that the Aam Aadmi Party’s state government is driving the all-round development of Punjab’s cities. He highlighted the importance of municipal elections in planning and implementing development projects for cities. Expressing hope for free and fair elections, he said that post-elections, the pace of development work in cities would accelerate. “We will pave the way for transparent and honest governance in local administration as well,” he stated. He mentioned that the party is preparing separate plans for each city. “He added, “Some issues are common everywhere, but each area has unique problems, and we are also considering these.”

Arora announced that, starting December 1, the Aam Aadmi Party will begin accepting applications for councillor candidates in all municipal corporations and councils. Furthermore, Aman Arora emphasized that the selection process would prioritize merit, loyalty to the party, the social composition of the area, and the candidate’s potential to win. He encouraged party members who aspire to contest the elections to reach out to their local party officials or MLAs to submit their applications. Additionally, he assured that the team would carefully review each application to ensure the most qualified candidates are selected.
Observers appointed for five municipal corporations
During the meeting, State President Aman Arora announced the appointment of AAP ministers as observers for the five municipal corporations—Amritsar, Patiala, Jalandhar, Ludhiana, and Phagwara. In addition, the Party appointed Cabinet Minister Kuldeep Singh Dhaliwal as the observer for Amritsar, Minister Harbhajan Singh ETO for Jalandhar, Barinder Goyal for Patiala, and Minister Tarunpreet Singh Sondh for Ludhiana Municipal Corporation. Furthermore, the party designated AAP MP from Hoshiarpur, Dr. Raj Kumar Chabbewal, as the observer for Phagwara Municipal Corporation.These appointments aim to ensure effective leadership and coordination within the municipalities.
