The Shiromani Akali Dal (SAD) delegates have once again handed control of the party to the Badal family by re-electing Sukhbir Singh Badal as the president.
Chandigarh, 16 Nov: Shiromani Akali Dal (SAD) President, S. Sukhbir Singh Badal, submitted his resignation to the party’s working committee today, announcing his decision to step down and pave the way for the election of a new party president.
In a heartfelt statement, SAD President Badal expressed his gratitude towards all party leaders and workers for their unwavering support and trust in his leadership during his tenure. He acknowledged the wholehearted cooperation extended by the party’s members, which contributed to the party’s growth and efforts throughout his leadership.
“I am deeply thankful to all the leaders and workers of the Shiromani Akali Dal (SAD for their confidence and consistent support over the years. It has been an honor to serve as the President of the party,” S. Sukhbir Singh Badal said, as he confirmed his resignation and the beginning of the party’s leadership transition.
The move comes as the party prepares for the election of its next President, signaling a new chapter in the leadership of the Shiromani Akali Dal.
