Unable to Compete With My Work, Opposition Has Stooped to Petty Politics: CM Bhagwant Singh Mann
CHANDIGARH; 24th June 2026: Punjab Chief Minister Bhagwant Singh Mann on Wednesday said that a fake video was deliberately created and circulated to defame him after his political opponents failed to challenge the work being done by his Government for the people of Punjab. Pointing out that the opposition is misleading people in the name of religion and resorting to petty politics, the Chief Minister said that those who have no issue left against his Government are now trying to tarnish his image through fabricated propaganda.
Reposing complete faith in the wisdom of the Nanak Naam Leva Sangat, CM Bhagwant Singh Mann said that truth will ultimately prevail and he leaves the final verdict to the Sangat. and he will continue working tirelessly for electricity, water, roads, hospitals, Aam Aadmi Clinics and employment while the people deliver the final verdict.
Fake Video ;“Someone made a video viral,
In a video message, CM Bhagwant Singh Mann said, “For the past few days, as part of a very cheap political conspiracy, fake videos of me have been circulated. When my opponents find themselves unable to challenge me on any other front, they try to defame me through religious issues.”
Referring to a recently circulated video, CM Bhagwant Singh Mann said, “Someone made a video viral, but the person’s physical appearance, height, walking style, and body language do not match mine.”
Yet, my political opponents tried to portray me as guilty. However, the people and the Sikh community saw the video and it was obvious to them that it was fake.”
The Chief Minister said that the state government got the video examined by forensic laboratories, but now some people are targeting those laboratories. He added, “The BJP, Akali Dal and Congress have united against me and are targeting the owners and operators of the laboratory.”
he has full faith in the Sikh sangat and the people of Punjab
CM Bhagwant Singh Mann said that the controversy started backfiring on his opponents and people started criticizing them for releasing a fake video. “As a result, they are stooping too low in politics. They are intimidating laboratory owners by threatening FIRs and using pressure tactics, forcing them to claim that they received money to prepare a false report. They allege that the laboratory we used is fake while theirs is genuine. However, people clearly know what is real and what is not,” he added.
The Chief Minister said that he has full faith in the Sikh sangat and the people of Punjab. “I leave this matter to the people and the Sri Nanak Naam Leva sangat. The reality is that these parties have failed politically and socially in Punjab. Therefore, they have now chosen to target me on religious grounds. Every day they create new fake videos and circulate them through their social media platforms,” he said.
Warning the opposition against adopting such methods
CM Bhagwant Singh Mann said that such tactics would not deter him from serving the people. “I will continue working for electricity, water, roads, village ponds, Aam Aadmi Clinics, hospitals and employment opportunities. I will continue working with the same dedication and speed. As long as the people stand with me, none of this affects me,” he said.
Warning the opposition against adopting such methods, the Chief Minister said, “Politics has fallen to a very low level because they have no other way to oppose me. They continuously try to defame me through one accusation or another. Now the SGPC has ordered the putting up posters outside Gurdwara Sahibs calling for my boycott.”
sangat is wise and the people are supreme
CM Bhagwant Singh Mann questioned why no one put up similar posters against the Akali Dal or Sukhbir Singh Badal after they admitted responsibility for the sacrilege incidents. He said, “On December 2, before Sri Akal Takht Sahib, they acknowledged their mistakes, admitted wrongdoing, accepted responsibility for the firing incidents, and confirmed that they had issued orders against the sangat.”. Did anyone put up posters outside gurdwaras calling for their boycott?” he asked.
The Chief Minister said that the sangat is wise and the people are supreme. “These individuals are acting out of arrogance because they have no real issue left to raise against me,” he added.
CM Bhagwant Singh Mann said that wherever he visits villages, community gatherings and public meetings, huge crowds gather. “The opposition cannot tolerate these crowds because they themselves cannot attract such public support. Therefore, all three parties have joined hands with one objective, to defame me on religious grounds. The final judgment lies with the people,” he said.
circulated videos are completely fake and fabricated
The Chief Minister reiterated his commitment to Punjab and its people. “I will continue to stand firmly for Punjab and its interests. They may do whatever they wish, but the people will decide whether anyone can stoop to such a level,” he said.
CM Bhagwant Singh Mann said that the circulated videos are completely fake and fabricated. He urged people not to believe them and added that the opposition now relies on artificial intelligence because it no longer has any real presence on the ground.
The Chief Minister said that the opposition becomes nervous and uncomfortable whenever villages organise Lok Milnis. “That is why the Akali Dal, BJP and Congress have formed a common front against me. They cannot compete with me politically, so they are trying to tarnish my image through false religious propaganda,” he added.
government is building schools, improving hospitals
CM Bhagwant Singh Mann said that for years power merely alternated between these parties and they protected one another. They have ended those days now. They see no chance of returning to power in 2027, so they are worried.
The government is building schools, improving hospitals, constructing roads, cleaning polluted village ponds, and delivering canal water to farmers’ fields. These leaders cannot tolerate Punjab’s progress. That is why they are hatching these conspiracies,” he pointed out.
Reiterating his faith in the people and the Sangat, CM Bhagwant Singh Mann said, “The Sangat will decide. The people will decide. I belong to the people and I will remain among them. Even today I am going among the people and I am confident that wherever I go, they will continue to shower the same affection upon me. It is this love that gives me the strength to continue serving Punjab.”
