Ludhiana, June 22: The BJP is determined to restore Punjab’s industrial and commercial glory and will achieve this goal at all costs. The party will create a favorable environment for industrial development and investment in Punjab, while ensuring that agriculture progresses alongside it.
The Bharatiya Janata Party’s National President, Nitin Nabin, expressed these words. He was listening to the grievances of Punjab’s industrialists in Ludhiana.

Regarding Punjab’s industrial issues, it is clear that the Punjab government is not providing proper cooperation to the Center.
He added that the people of Punjab held a unique identity across the entire country for their agriculture and industry. Punjab’s industrial heritage has been so strong, and if it is not the same today, it is a matter of concern; the Central Government and the BJP will ensure accountability for this.
He said that we constantly engage in dialogue, as that is how things move forward. If any government views this with a negative mindset, development is simply not possible.

Nitin Nabin mentioned that during the Corona period, when he was a minister in Bihar, he had personally witnessed how industries migrated from Punjab to Bihar. He stated that in reality, there is neither a good environment nor any support system for industries in Punjab. *Until there is a sound industrial policy in the state, the industry cannot progress. Along with this, proper law and order situations and good governance are absolutely essential.*
*Problems of Punjab’s Industries*:-
While industrialists raised questions regarding the law and order situation in Punjab, they also flagged concerns over gangsterism, extortion, and the deteriorating law and order machinery.
Mandi Gobindgarh’s industrialists informed Nitin Nabin that due to a fake (bogus) GST billing scam in Punjab’s iron recycling industry, the government exchequer suffers a loss of nearly two lakh crore rupees. What is even more distressing is that this issue is not being heard on any platform.
Representatives of the bicycle industry stated that while China is manufacturing 30 crore (300 million) bicycles, India produces only 3 crore (30 million). Therefore, there is a need to plan afresh.
The Agro-Combine industry raised the issue of reducing the time limit for passing or certifying combines.
Rice millers raised the issue of increasing costs due to the US-Iran war and rising petrol prices, demanding that subsidies should be provided for Basmati exports.
The nut-bolt industry termed the lakhs of rupees in fees required to obtain a license as unfair and demanded a reduction.
Industrialists emphasized that Punjab should form a “double-engine” government so that its people can benefit from central schemes, which they currently cannot access.
During this meeting, representatives from various industrial sectors were present, including K.K. Seth from the bicycle industry, Ravinder from the sports industry, Ajmer Singh (Dashmesh Combine), Monu Chadha from rice mills, Rahul Ahuja from ICA, Narinder Bhumbhla from the nut-bolt industry, K.K. Garg from induction, and Rajni Bector from Cremica, among others.
On this occasion, Punjab BJP State President Kewal Singh Dhillon, National General Secretary Tarun Chugh, former President Ashwani Sharma, Sunil Jakhar, Rajya Sabha Member Vikram Sahney, and Rajinder Gupta were also present.
