Punjab Govt duty bound to carve egalitarian society as preached by Sri Guru Ravidass Maharaj ji: CM Bhagwant Singh Mann
CHANDIGARH, 5th February 2026: Chief Minister Bhagwant Singh Mann is infusing governance with devotion and social resolve. On Thursday, he reaffirmed that the Punjab Government is duty-bound. Their goal is to carve an egalitarian society rooted in the timeless teachings of Sri Guru Ravidass Ji Maharaj.
Speaking ahead of the state-level Parkash Purab celebrations at Sri Khuralgarh Sahib, the tap asthan of the revered Guru ji, the Chief Minister said that the entire Punjab Cabinet would join the Sangat on February 6 to pay homage with full religious fervour and enthusiasm.
Describing the bani of Sri Guru Ravidass Ji as a lighthouse for humanity and a guiding force to eradicate social evils, the Chief Minister said the Guru Ji’s vision of a society free from suffering, inequality and discrimination continues to inspire Punjab’s collective conscience. He also highlighted the world-class memorial constructed at Sri Khuralgarh Sahib at a cost of ₹148 crore as the state government’s humble tribute to Sri Guru Ravidass Ji’s enduring legacy of equality, compassion and human dignity.
Guru Ravidass Ji ; Entire Punjab Cabinet to join sangat at Sri Khuralgarh Sahib
CM Bhagwant Singh Mann spoke on Thursday. He stated, “The Punjab Government has a duty to create an egalitarian society. This is as preached by Sri Guru Ravidass Maharaj ji. To perpetuate the great legacy of Sri Guru Ravidass Maharaj ji, the Punjab government is organising a state-level function at Sri Khuralgarh Sahib in Hoshiarpur district on February 6.”
The Chief Minister announced that the entire state Cabinet will join the sangat. They plan to pay homage to Sri Guru Ravidass ji at the function. This event is being organised to mark Guru ji’s Parkash Purb. “The entire state Cabinet will join the sangat to pay homage to Sri Guru Ravidass ji in this state-level function. It is being organised at Khuralgarh,” he said. He urged people from all walks of life to participate. “I urge the entire sangat to participate in this state-level function with full religious fervour and enthusiasm,” he added.
Calling upon the people to draw inspiration from the teachings of the revered Guru ji, CM Bhagwant Singh Mann gave a clarion call to follow the path shown by Sri Guru Ravidass ji to wipe out various social maladies prevalent in society. “The bani of Sri Guru Ravidass ji is a lighthouse for the entire humanity,” he said. He added that Sri Guru Ravidass ji showed the path of humanity to the entire world. He said that the teachings of the great Guru can play a pivotal role in emancipating society from the problems it is currently confronting.

The Chief Minister highlighted his government’s efforts to honor the legacy of Sri Guru Ravidass ji. He said that authorities have constructed a world-class memorial at Sri Khuralgarh Sahib at a cost of nearly ₹148 crore.It serves as a humble tribute to the great Guru ji. “The state government has constructed a world-class memorial at Sri Khuralgarh Sahib. CM Bhagwant Singh Mann detailed the facilities at the memorial. He said it is equipped with a modern building with tourist facilities and multi-level parking. There are also Minar-e-Begumpura and Sangat Hall. Additionally, it features a state-of-the-art auditorium and other amenities. He said that Sri Guru Ravidass ji spread the message of welfare of the entire humanity. He emphasized equality of all sections of society. This message laid the foundation for a society based on egalitarian values.
The Chief Minister further said that Sri Guru Ravidass ji envisioned an ideal society. In this society, no one suffers any kind of discrimination or deprivation. “Sri Guru Ravidass ji laid out the concept of such an ideal society. Nobody undergoes suffering of any kind there,” CM Bhagwant Singh Mann said. He added that the life, philosophy and teachings of the great Guru continue to guide humanity.
Mann Government has implemented extensive arrangements
CM Bhagwant Singh Mann described Sri Guru Ravidass ji as a towering spiritual figure. He said that he was a great spiritual ambassador. He was also a messiah of the poor and underprivileged sections of society. “Sri Guru Ravidass ji taught us to lead a virtuous and noble life. His teachings continue to inspire generations,” the Chief Minister said.
*Robust state-level arrangements for 649th Parkash Purb and preparations for historic 650th in 2027*
The Bhagwant Singh Mann Government has implemented extensive arrangements. They have well coordinated the events to mark the 649th Parkash Purab of Sri Guru Ravidass Ji Maharaj with deep religious fervour. The government is also initiating year-long, state-wide preparations for the historic 650th Parkash purb in 2027. The state government has organised a three-day state-level event at Sri Khuralgarh Sahib. It features large-scale participation of saints, spiritual leaders, Cabinet Ministers, the Deputy Speaker, and other dignitaries. The event culminates with the Bhog of Sri Akhand Path Sahib on February 6.
The Bhagwant Mann government has ensured comprehensive facilities and seamless arrangements for the convenience of the sangat. It has also expanded the observance beyond a single event. The government launched programmes to carry the teachings of Sri Guru Ravidass Ji from Sri Khuralgarh Sahib to every village across Punjab.
