Chandigarh, January 13: Punjab Housing and Urban Development Minister Hardeep Singh Mundian on Tuesday said that the Chief Minister Bhagwant Singh Mann led Punjab Government has taken a major pro-people step by approving the extension of Amnesty Policy 2025, bringing substantial relief to defaulting plot allottees across Punjab.
The Cabinet Minister announced that the Cabinet has approved the extension of Amnesty Policy 2025. This applies to allotted and auctioned plots under various schemes of the Housing and Urban Development Department. With this decision, defaulting allottees of Development Authorities will get a fresh opportunity. They can apply under the policy up to March 31, 2026. Eligible applicants must deposit the due amount within three months from the date of approval by the concerned Development Authority.Submit applications on or before the revised cutoff date.

The Cabinet Minister explained the public oriented intent behind the decision.He said that the Mann government is focusing on resolving long-pending housing-related issues of the common people.Several families and institutions were facing hardship due to accumulated dues and procedural delays. The policy extension provides them a practical chance to regularize their properties and move forward.”
The Cabinet Minister said that Chief Minister Bhagwant Singh Mann took this people-friendly decision.
He added that the government has given a fair opportunity to allottees who could not deposit instalments on time.They can now settle their dues and secure additional time to complete construction within the stipulated period.
He urged all affected persons to avail the benefit of this scheme within the extended period.
Hardeep Singh Mundian further said that under Amnesty Policy 2025, defaulting allottees can deposit outstanding dues in lump sum. They can do this along with scheme interest without penalty. Non-construction charges will be waived by 50 percent. For Institutional Sites, Hospital Sites, and Industrial Plots allotted in IT City SAS Nagar, the extension fee will be 2.5 percent of the allotment or auction price. This fee applies to other schemes of Development Authorities as well. The authority will allow a three-year period to fulfill allotment conditions, including construction. The scheme applies to those who defaulted on installments due after December 31, 2013. It also applies to those who did not finish construction within the prescribed time.
