Chandigarh, December 27: Punjab Vidhan Sabha Speaker Kultar Singh Sandhwan is deeply saddened. He expressed grief over the demise of former Prime Minister Dr. Manmohan Singh.
Paying tribute to Dr. Manmohan Singh, S. Sandhwan said that he was a great politician. and was also a visionary economist and a renowned educationist. He served as Prime Minister of India for 10 consecutive years. He said that the country has lost a great leader.

Sandhwan said that Dr. Manmohan Singh, born on September 26, 1932 in village Gah, Pakistan, served as Professor of Panjab University. Dr Singh was Chairman of the Planning Commission of India and Governor of the Reserve Bank of India. He also served as Finance Minister of India. He was the Padma Vibhushan. Dr Singh became Prime Minister of India from 2004-2014. He said that during the partition, his family had left Pakistan and settled in Amritsar. In 1987, Padma Vibhushan honored Dr. Singh.
