Urban estates will be built in every city on the lines of big cities: Hardip Singh Mundia
Chandigarh, November 29: Providing transparent, smooth, and hassle-free services to the people of the state is the top priority of the state government led by Chief Minister Bhagwant Singh Mann. The government is taking every step to fulfil the basic needs of people, including food, clothing, and housing.
Punjab Revenue, Housing and Urban Development, and Water Supply and Sanitation Minister Hardip Singh Mundian outlined the road map for his departments at a real estate summit organized by a private channel in Chandigarh late last evening.He announced that every city will build urban estates, modeled after big cities.
Mundian emphasised that the government is making continuous efforts to prioritise planned urban development in the state and address the issues faced by city dwellers in this sector.
A survey is conducting in every city.

“Authorities will create urban estates in every city, following the model of big cities, and equip them with state-of-the-art basic facilities.”The department is conducting a survey of each city and will soon begin their development. He further said that development authorities have earned Rs. 5000 Crore through e-auction of properties twice in the past in a transparent manner.
Urban Estates : the first time decided to organise special camps
The Minister said that the main priority of the government is to provide accountability and transparent services. For the first time, authorities decided to organize special camps to address long-pending cases. In the first camp, 51 promoters/builders received various documents, including colony licenses, completion certificates, zoning plans, building plans, and layout plans.
The second camp will take place on 3rd December, and in addition, organizers will distribute over 100 certificates to participants.
Government is fulfilling all guarantees
Mundian further said that our Government is fulfilling all guarantees. The government passed a law and issued a notification to resolve the long-pending issue of registering plots without NoC.. Registration of plots up to 500 yards without NoC will start from 1st December. “From 1st December 2024 to 28th February 2025, three months will be given.”
“Authorities will not tolerate corruption.”
Cabinet Minister Mundian responded to a question, stating that the government will not tolerate corruption. He emphasized that anyone found guilty or reported through a complaint will face consequences. To support this, he has publicly shared his mobile number (84276-90000), allowing any resident of the state to file complaints related to his department.He said that the aim of the State Government is to provide honest and efficient citizen centric services.
5 projects related to canal water supply approved in the state.
Mundian, who also holds the charge of Water Supply and Sanitation, emphasized that providing clean water to every village is not only our top priority but will also remain a central focus moving forward. Moreover, to further strengthen this initiative, the government has approved approximately 15 projects related to canal water supply, worth Rs. 2174 Crore, across the state. In addition, these efforts will ensure improved water access for all communities and significantly enhance the state’s infrastructure.
