The Chief Minister stated that gram panchayats are the foundation of democracy. He called it a historic moment as elected Panchs are taking their oath of office. These Panchs, elected by the people, are being sworn in today across 19 districts. On November 8, Bhagwant Singh Mann administered the oath to 10,031 newly elected Sarpanchs in Ludhiana.

Bhagwant Singh Mann assured newly elected panchs that there is no dearth of funds for undertaking developmental work in villages.

The Chief Minister announced that the state government is establishing rural libraries to promote growth and prosperity. This initiative aims to encourage reading habits among the youth.
