Chandigarh, October 1: In a resolute initiative to bolster transparency and integrity in public service, Punjab newly-appointed Revenue Minister Hardeep Singh Mundian has exhorted all revenue officers and officials to ensure an incorruptible administration that serves citizens efficaciously.

During a virtual conference with statewide revenue officials, Hardeep Singh Mundian reaffirmed the Punjab government’s commitment to a transparent and accountable administration under Chief Minister Bhagwant Singh Mann. Revenue Minister: Authorities Must Not Exact Unauthorised Fees
He unequivocally rejected limiting registration days in tehsils and sub-tehsils, decreeing that daily registrations must occur statewide to reduce inconvenience to citizens.
The Revenue Minister issued a stern warning and ordered officials to charge only government-sanctioned fees, strictly prohibiting unauthorized charges. He emphasized that any official or employee caught soliciting bribes or violating regulations would face severe consequences..

He informed the team of the department’s noteworthy achievement in doubling the revenue for the Punjab government, increasing it from Rs. 3,000 crores to Rs. 6,000 crores over the past biennium. Furthermore, he noted that the appointment of 78 Deputy Tehsildars has significantly accelerated departmental operations, contributing to this impressive growth.
The revenue department is diligently working to improve efficiency.
He assured the Revenue Minister that the department is continuously working to provide services and facilities aligned with the state government’s priorities.
